Curtain & Drapery Specifications
All of our Curtains-To-Go panels are made to professional high-end workroom standards right here in the USA. These panels contain the same dressmaker details and quality workmanship found in high-end custom designer draperies.
100% smooth dupioni silk.
Dupioni is a pure silk fabric made out of raw silk fiber. It is silk at its best natural form. The inherent random slubs distinguish it from other lesser quality silks. Please be aware that silk is a natural product and therefore will always have a small amount of natural flaws
Fine Dressmaker Details:
All of our Curtains-To-Go contain fine dressmaker details such as covered piping, covered buttons, and custom-designed heading styles, etc. We have the most unique heading styles available on the market today. No more plain-jane pinch pleats or run-of-the-mill rod pockets. These panels all have our Pate-Meadows signature heading styles complete with fabric-covered piping in all the headings seams.
Premium Sateen 100% Cotton Lining:
We use only Premium Sateen 100% Cotton Lining in our Curtains-To-Go. Many silk panels on the market contain lighter weight cotton/polyester blends or no lining at all. Our Premium Sateen 100% Cotton Lining gives a softer appearance to the panels and provides extra light filtration, as well. We use ivory colored lining in all or our Curtains-To-Go.
Heavy 100% Cotton Flannel Interlining:
Interlining is a soft, 100% cotton flannel material that is placed between the silk and the lining. Silks by their nature are fine, delicate materials and the addition of interlining adds an unmistakable dimension of body, fullness and softness to the draperies. In addition, interlining gives additional protection against fading from sunlight and provides a degree of insulation in winter. Interlining is included in all of our Curtains-To-Go. Blindstitched Hems:
We provide double 4" bottom hems on the silk face fabric and double 3" hems in the lining. In addition, all side hems are double 1-1/2" hems. All of the hems are blindstitched in matching poly/cotton thread. Blindstiching provides an almost invisible stitch line.
Matching Quality Thread:
We only used the finest cotton/poly threads available. We match the thread color to the silk fabric. We do not use nylon or clear plastic thread.
Hand-Sewn Drapery Weights:
Hand-sewn drapery weights are placed in each bottom corners of each panel to enhance the flow of the material.
Preinserted Drapery Pins:
Drapery pins come pre-inserted so that you can hang the panels immediately. Slight adjustments can be made to the length of the panels by moving the pins up or down.
